Indian scholarships abound - You just have to know where to look !




There are numerous scholarships just waiting to be applied for, programs
that are specially geared towards American Indians, Native Alaskans and
Native Hawaiians.

A good place to find what is being offered is to use the Internet. A Google
search for "Native American Scholarships°® yields 298,000 results.

We have listed some of them for you.

-The Adolf Van Pelt Foundation offers 40 to 50 grants ranging from $500 to
$1500 to Native American graduates and under graduates pursing any career

-The Native American Scholarship Fund has programs in the fields of Math;
Engineering; Science; Business; Education; Computer Science Open to American
Indians or Alaskan Natives (1/4 degree or more) enrolled as members of a
federally recognized, state recognized, or terminated tribe. For graduate or
undergraduate study at an accredited four-year college or university. The
programs give out 208 awards annually. Contact Lucille Kelley, Director of

There are also grants available through the Bureau of Indian Affairs and
Indian Health Services as well as individual tribes that have scholarship
